A Bit About Me
Hi, I'm Kaitlyn! I'm a video game writer and narrative designer from Victoria, Australia.
Storytelling is my passion, having been creating complex (and low-key kinda messed up) stories from a young age. Even when I'm not writing, my mind is always on the go, coming up with new characters, societies, worlds, stories, and the like. But as much as I like this ever-filling pool of ideas, it can become pretty exhausting.
So what do I do to shut it up? I play videogames, of course! From Persona to Final Fantasy to some lesser-known titles, if it has an intriguing story, there's a big chance I've heard of it, and will likely play it (if I haven't already). I know it sounds counterintuitive, but sitting in front of the TV and playing a good game allows me to just turn my brain off and immerse myself in a narrative crafted by someone else.
If I'm not doing that, I'm either watching YouTube or trying to stop my dog from making a mess of the house.
Projects
Times New Noir
This was a university capstone project I developed as part of a 4-person team. My roles were narrative designer, mission designer, and dialogue writer.
I wrote all of the dialogue for the game, ranging from conversations with major characters, to even single lines of NPC dialogue. I was also responsible for fleshing out each character - including their backstory and motivations - as well as mapping out every mission in the game, and their connections to each other.
